A hard decision usually isn't hard because the right answer is hidden; it's hard because every option costs something. These verses won't tell you which door to pick. They're about how to decide, whom to ask, and what to do with the uncertainty that stays.

If you lack wisdom, ask. God gives 'liberally and without reproach,' generously, and without making you feel foolish for not already knowing. It's the most direct verse in the Bible for someone stuck at a fork. The next verse adds 'ask in faith, without any doubting,' which isn't a demand for certainty about the answer. It's about trusting that God is willing to help. Doubt about the decision is normal; doubt about God's willingness is what James addresses.
Proverbs 15:22
Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established.

Plans fail without counsel. This is wisdom's most practical instruction: talk to people. Not one person who'll agree with you, but 'a multitude,' several perspectives. Hard decisions made in isolation tend to be harder than they need to be. It also matters who counts as counsel. Proverbs assumes advisers are people with experience who will tell you what you don't want to hear. A friend who already agrees with you is company, not counsel.
Psalm 32:8
I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you.

'I will counsel you with my eye on you' is God speaking. The picture is of someone watching closely and guiding, not shouting directions from far off. For a decision where you feel unwatched and on your own, this verse says otherwise.
Proverbs 16:9
A man’s heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps.

You plan; God directs the steps. This isn't fatalism; the planning is assumed and expected. It's reassurance that the outcome doesn't rest entirely on getting the plan perfect. Decide carefully, and then hold the plan loosely. The same chapter says 'Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed,' so the two ideas belong together: plan seriously, hand the plan over, and don't treat the outcome as a verdict on whether you chose right.
Psalm 25:4-5
Show me your ways, Yahweh. Teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth, and teach me, For you are the God of my salvation, I wait for you all day long.

David asks to be shown, taught, and guided, and then says 'I wait for you all day long.' The waiting is part of asking. It's a prayer you can use word for word when you don't yet know what to do.
Isaiah 30:21
and when you turn to the right hand, and when you turn to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way. Walk in it.”

A voice behind you saying 'this is the way, walk in it.' In context it's a promise to a people who'd been ignoring God's guidance and would finally receive it. The image is of correction as you go, not a full itinerary beforehand. That's how most guidance actually works.
How to use these verses
Write the decision down in one sentence. Read Proverbs 3:5-6 and James 1:5, then ask God for wisdom in those words. Then take Proverbs 15:22 literally and ask two or three people you trust. Scripture doesn't replace that step; it commands it.
