Why the World English Bible
All Scripture text on the site is from the World English Bible, a modern-English translation in the public domain. That means you can copy any passage into a bulletin, a slide, a handout, or a website without a license or a verse limit. Every passage shows its reference so you can read it from the translation your congregation uses.
What this is not
Not a sermon library, not a commentary, not a denominational resource. We choose verses because their context connects to the situation, we say why, and we say where a familiar verse tends to be misused. The method is on the How we choose verses page.
Contribute
If you are a pastor, chaplain, or teacher and a page here has a gap or a misreading, tell us. We would also like to hear how you use, or avoid using, particular passages in pastoral care; short notes from people with names and experience are the thing an anonymous website can’t manufacture.
