Feeling overwhelmed usually means the load is bigger than the person carrying it. Most of these verses accept that as the starting point. They're about weakness, rest, and what happens when you stop trying to hold everything up yourself.

Paul asked three times for a hardship to be removed, and the answer was no, with this sentence attached: 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Being overwhelmed is weakness, and this verse says weakness is where the strength shows up. It's the opposite of the advice to try harder.
Psalm 55:22
Cast your burden on Yahweh and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved.

Cast the burden, and 'he will sustain you.' The word for burden can mean what's been given to you, your lot. David wrote this during a betrayal. The promise is holding up under it, not that the lot changes overnight.

'He gives power to the weak.' Two verses later comes the famous 'wings like eagles' line, but it starts here, with an admission of having no might left. The chapter is addressed to people who think God has stopped noticing them. It's the right chapter for running on empty.

Trapped between an army and the sea, the people panic. Moses says God will fight, and 'you shall be still.' Sometimes the overwhelming thing is that you think every outcome depends on your effort. This verse describes a situation where the outcome didn't.

'My soul rests in God alone.' The word 'alone' does a lot of work: not in God plus a plan, not in God once things calm down. The result is 'I will never be greatly shaken,' which is honest, since 'greatly' admits some shaking still happens.
How to use these verses
When you're overwhelmed, don't add 'read the Bible more' to the list. Read one verse. Matthew 11:28 is enough for a day. If a line describes exactly how you feel, that's the one to sit with.
