Some of the Bible's most-quoted lines about God's presence were written by people who felt completely alone. That's worth knowing. These verses don't pretend loneliness isn't real. They insist you're not as alone as it feels.

Psalm 25:16
Turn to me, and have mercy on me, for I am desolate and afflicted.

'He will not fail you nor forsake you' is said to a people about to lose the only leader they've known. Loneliness often follows a loss like that. The promise isn't that someone will replace what's gone; it's that God himself goes with you into the unfamiliar.
Psalm 68:6
God sets the lonely in families. He brings out the prisoners with singing, but the rebellious dwell in a sun-scorched land.

'God sets the lonely in families' is a line about God's character: he notices the solitary and puts them somewhere they belong. It's descriptive, not a timeline. But it tells you what God is like, which matters when loneliness suggests nobody is paying attention.
Matthew 28:20
… Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.

The last words of Matthew's Gospel. Jesus is sending his friends out into the world, and his final promise is presence: 'always, even to the end of the age.' It's not conditional on their success or their mood. If you've felt left behind, this is the opposite.
Psalm 139:7-8
Where could I go from your Spirit? Or where could I flee from your presence? If I ascend up into heaven, you are there. If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, you are there!

The psalmist tries to imagine a place God isn't and can't find one, not heaven, not the grave. It's an unusual comfort: there is no location, including the low one you're in, where you'd be out of reach. This psalm is often read at 3 a.m. for a reason.
Psalm 27:10
When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up.

'When my father and my mother forsake me' names the deepest kind of abandonment, and then says God takes up the one who's been left. If your loneliness has a family shape to it, this verse doesn't minimize that. It answers it.
Hebrews 13:5
Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, “I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.”

The writer quotes God's promise from Deuteronomy, 'I will in no way leave you,' with emphatic double negatives in the original. It's set, interestingly, in a verse about contentment and money. Loneliness and the feeling of not having enough often travel together; this verse addresses both.
Loneliness tends to be worst at specific hours. Choose one verse and read it at that hour, out loud if you can. Then, when you're able, tell one person, in real life, that you've been lonely. Scripture is meant to be read in company.
Deuteronomy 31:6 and Hebrews 13:5 both say it directly. Matthew 28:20 ("I am with you always") is Jesus' version.
Psalm 25:16 says it outright: "I am desolate and afflicted." Psalm 139 is about the impossibility of being somewhere God isn't.
